About the USDA Nutrition Hub Network
Building on the USDA’s Agricultural Science Center of Excellence for Nutrition and Diet for Better Health (ASCEND for Better Health) initiative, which piloted the Nutrition Hub model with Southern University and A&M College, the Nutrition Hub network has expanded to include three additional Nutrition hubs at land-grant universities: University of Hawaii, Texas A&M AgriLife Research, and Utah State University.
The Nutrition Hub network is supported by grants from the USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) Agriculture and Food Research Initiative, alongside resources from the USDA Agricultural Research Service. Its primary goal is to enhance and expand the reach of USDA initiatives related to Extension, education, and research through the application of precision nutrition. The Nutrition Hubs seek to promote interdisciplinary collaboration between researchers and stakeholders by using integrated approaches and human-centered program designs.
