
Ruby Ynalvez
Ruby A. Ynalvez, PhD (Laredo, TX) is a distinguished Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) faculty member with 28 years of experience in higher education. She holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Louisiana State University, an M.S. in Biochemistry, and a B.S. in Food Science and Technology from the University of the Philippines at Los Baños. At TAMIU, Dr. Ynalvez has progressed from Assistant Professor to Full Professor, earning multiple teaching awards, including University Teacher of the Year. As an active researcher, she has published 26 papers and secured $2.55 million in research grants. Her dedication to service is evident through her roles as TAMIU Faculty Senate President, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society Chapter President, and currently, Associate Vice-President of Research and Sponsored Projects. Dr. Ynalvez’s passion for education, research, and service underscores her pivotal role at TAMIU and recognition as a leader in her field.
